Quality & Certifications

Since 1986, Alabama Heat Exchangers has built its reputation on quality. Our certifications and quality program give you confidence that every heat exchanger and pressure vessel we build or repair meets code.

ASME U stamp

We fabricate heat exchangers, pressure vessels and other process equipment in accordance with the latest requirements of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and mark them with the ASME U stamp.

NBIC R stamp

Our repair work meets the requirements of the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors and is marked with the NBIC R stamp. The R stamp allows us to perform code repairs, alterations and re-rates on pressure equipment.

HTRI membership and TEMA standards

As an HTRI member, we use industry-leading thermal design software, and we follow TEMA standards to guide our shell and tube heat exchanger builds.

Qualified welding

All welding procedures and welders are qualified to ASME Section IX.

Our quality control program

Our QC department works closely with every part of the process, from the end user to the shop floor and the Authorized Inspector. Every weld, every flange and every drawing gets another set of eyes before equipment leaves our shop.

Safety

Our shop operates under OSHA safety requirements, and our team trains regularly in fire and safety programs.

What is an NBIC R stamp?

The R stamp is issued by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors. It authorizes an organization to perform repairs and alterations on code pressure equipment in accordance with the National Board Inspection Code.
